UA CQI Faculty Resource Project

Faculty members can benefit from CQI principles and tools in a variety of ways. For example, Academic Departments, such as Physics and Astronomy and the School of Social Work have developed strategic plans that engaged all of the faculty in the planning process. Academic units have used quality tools to improve departmental work processes, enhance teamwork, and resolve problems with support organizations.

This site provides faculty with a variety of links to CQI applications. The AQIP quality criteria are being used by the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities for alternate accreditation for universities. The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology site provides information on the use of a quality-based management system for accreditation of engineering programs.

The use of quality concepts in teaching are included in the linkage to Penn State's Scheryer Institute for Innovation in Learning.

Information regarding SUCCEED (Southeastern Universities and Colleges Coalition for Engineering EDucation) is included with a summary of an article from Quality Progress Magazine and links to the authors.

There are also examples of how faculty members have used quality tools to illustrate concepts and to improve teaching.
